Bon Appétit

Posted by Michelle on Wednesday, December 08, 2010 2 Comments
Since we were little this "Say you too thing" has been drilled into us, or is it just me? Little did I know it isn't always appropriate.

Have a good day! | You too!
Hope you have a goodnight's rest! | You too!
Enjoy class! | You too! Get home safely! You too!
Who are going to dinner with? | X | :O You two?? lol

You too, you too, you too, so many words in the English language and we can't bring ourselves to say anything else? Then again, we don't care enough to say anything else, you too is just a formality, a way to leave on a 'happy note' I guess

I was out for lunch with a friend of mine and the waiter was as pleasant as I'd imagine a waiter to be. He brought our drinks and about 20 minutes later the food arrives. He gave us the usual "Hope you enjoy your meal!" and what do I do?? I tell him, "You too!" As soon as the words left my mouth I wished I could suck them back in! The look the waiter gave me rendered me immobile save for tissue I was making into confetti. He just kind of stood there, with this look like he couldn't believe what I said and I couldn't believe what he said. My friend was no help (you know who are) she sat there on her Blackberry like nothing was going on! The waiter said, "I would loooovve  to get something to eat but unfortunately for me I have to make sure all these people get their food!"

Friend: Well, someone's grumpy.

I'm just happy that was said after we got our food! Who knows what unspeakable things would have been done to it if it was said prior :| Be nice to your waiter. Your life is on his tray.

Support Elf Rights

Posted by Michelle on Monday, December 06, 2010 0 Comments
How would you like slaving away every day of the year to grant everyone happiness and not get any recognition whatsoever? We are more than the little (and also cute) people who help Santa, we are what makes him! Without us he would be nothing. How else would he be able to make all those and pack everything up and make sure all the reindeer are fed? I don't know if many people know this but Santa is a pretty lazy guy! All he does is fly around one day a year gobbling up cookies and milk while us little people work in less than ideal conditions! I'm fighting for a cause here, people! Work with me! Anyone interested can check here for more information. All we I want is a little recognition, you know? Make an elf smile this year!

I Forgive Me

Day 03 of 30 Days of Truth: How It Started, Day 1, Day 2

Something you have to forgive yourself for.

I have to forgive myself for being totally awesome and not giving anyone else time be awesome too :( It's a blessing and a curse I tell you!

I really can't think of anything, I've pretty much forgiven myself of all my sins... I guess I could forgive myself for being so worried about controlling every aspect of my life. I need to be in charge so much so that I let myself stagnate and suffer in silence. Also, I forgive myself for telling someone I thought their husband was their Dad, but that's another post. :)

Dear Everyone Who Reads My Blog,
I know Christmas shopping can be a task and so I don't burden you with trying to figure out what to get me I've compiled a short list of all the things I need to survive into the next year. If all of you come together and work something out, you can get me most if not everything on my list.
  1. A toaster that holds 4 pieces of toast
  2. Chainmail
  3. A usuable replica of the sword that Shigure uses in History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
  4. A panini maker
  5. Blowdryer with a diffuser attachment
  6. A pet snake/ostrich/llama or all 3, I already have names picked out :)
  7. Vespa
  8. Skullcandy headphones
  9. Foamy tees from illwillpress
  10. Nunchucks; I'll give myself lessons no tutor required
  11. Rock Band 3 and all the instruments

  13. An illegal immigrant to do all the household things I don't want to: cleaning, washing etc (including the bathrooms!)
  14. Someone to wash my vespa daily
  15. A dark-haired Greek guy to fan me with palm leaves when I get hot; after all I live in the tropics!
  16. The pink blob called Morph from Treasure Planet
  17. Hard copies of all the Glee soundtracks

The Little Engine That Could(If She Tried)

Posted by Michelle on Thursday, December 02, 2010 1 Comments
Well I've come to a decision! I'm going to give NaBloPoMo another try! It's where everyday of the month I have to post something. Last month *sigh* last month didn't work out too hot but I'm gonna give it another try.
Hopefully I don't:

  • procrastinate,
  • get distracted, or
  • lose interest
Although I'm pretty sure all of the above will happen :( If I miss a day I'll blame it on my semester finals and my job. If I have my excse ready does it discredit it? Hope not. I'm doing pretty well so far I think :) Yes I know it's only Day 2 :(

This Is...

Posted by Michelle on Wednesday, December 01, 2010 0 Comments
It's always weird bringing a new person into "the fold". Well, I imagine it is for the new person, after all you're the only one they know and they have no idea if the others are going to like them. So the person doing the introductions should be their rock... Right?

Some friends made plans on going to the beach so I figured, hey why not bring someone else along? I met my friends there around midday and my other friend was going to meet us there later on. She calls me and I walk over to where she was and as we were walking back to the group she's telling me how weird she feels because she doesn't know anyone there. Being the wonderful friend that I am I offer words of encouragement and all that crap that good friends do. We get to where we set up camp and this is where everything got washed away.

Me: Yeah, this is *mumbles*
My hope was that when they said pardon she would pipe up and say it but unfortunately...
Fold Member: Huh? Her name is what?
Me: Why don't you guys ever listen when I talk??? *sigh*
Another Fold Member: I didn't hear you either

By this time Nameless had wandered off to the shore and I wanted to bury my head in the sand...

Me: I can't remember her name so I'm gonna go to the car and you guys call her over, ask her then bbm it to me :|
Fold Member: You are... Awful.

I can't believe I forgot her name!!!!! Let me explain a few things:

  1. I met her through a friend just a couple days before
  2. I never bothered to put her name and number in my phone :( a mistake i will never make again
  3. I just like the number 3 and I hope this is enough to save me
I guess if you're gonna introduce someone to a group you should know their name and I guess my mumble method wasn't the best approach but I was under pressure! There was nothing else for me to do. I wish I could tell you what her name was but... It appears I have forgotten.

Day 02 of the 30 Days of Truth: How It Started, Day 1

→ Something you love about yourself.

Well I am generally awesome and simply fantastic, need I say more? Is it bad that I'm not sure where to go with this? I'm not certain what things I can list. I think what you don't like about yourself is easier to pinpoint than the stuff you do. Sure there's stuff I like about me, but love is quite a mouthful.

I could say I love my quick wit or my dialectic thinking or the way I approach problems or any of the many (or few) reasons that aren't coming to me but that just wouldn't do it.

I guess I have to say that I love that I don't want to be anyone else but me.
