Have You Met My Horn?

Posted by Michelle on Saturday, November 06, 2010
Today was shopping day with C!! :) I love our shopping days! When it was time to go I walked to my car and sat for a bit, busy bbm'ing a couple people. I get onto the road and there's a bus parked, not off to the side like they're supposed to, but in the middle of the road! It was rather narrow and there were cars coming from the opposite direction and this guy is behind me beeping his horn like there's no tomorrow! I beeped right back! Wasn't sure what else he could have possibly expected from me. When I overtook the bus I drove at 20 on purpose! For his rudeness I was gonna make him wait :) Not more than 10 minutes later I'm passing a gas station and this guy just speeds out, he didn't even look! The three cars close to me beeped their horn at him, so I beeped mine too! It was absolutely thrilling!! I'd never been in a car horn quartet before!

So now I'm on the highway, traffic's moving fairly well, but there's always the bob-and-weaver. You know the one... He'll pass cars at will, switching lanes 4-7 times for no reason other than getting in front of the other car. What makes this worse is that people like him overtake you and then drive slowly until they feel like switching lanes again. I was watching him in my rear-view mirror for a while and I was ready for him! When he passed the car behind me I was already picking up speed, I looked over at him, he looked over at me and looking through the side-view I could see he had his indicator on, but guess who he wasn't gonna get in front of!!!! Here were are, neck and neck, battling to be the first one to get to the round-a-bout, well not really, I wasn't going as fast as I could have but it was fun to let him think he could pass me :) He beeped his horn at me, I beeped mine back at him and then I put my foot on that gas pedal and drove off into the 2 o'clock sun. It makes me smile inside to know that he didn't get into the other lane! *win*

All these guys were driving some rather small cars! And challenging my Tuscon (yes I drive an SUV and pollute the environment) The guys with the smallest cars give me the most problems on the road, are they trying to overcompensate for something? I hope not 'cause it's not working out.

Indeed, their behaviour suggests they are lacking in the manly department.
