Actually... I don't eat rice... But! Remember my post about my Blackberry getting waterlogged? You should probably read it to get the back story. He's all better now!!! I did just as T said and put my disassembled phone in a bowl of rice and left it overnight.
When I woke up this morning I was a jittery mess suffering from Blackberry withdrawal. I kept glancing at the bowl of rice for about 4 hours before I reassembled and turned it on. When that red light flashed and the Blackberry start up bar appeared on my screen I held my breath until it was fully loaded. Well... I held my breath until I had to gasp for air, if you've ever seen a Blackberry restart you'll know how long it takes :| The screen loaded! And then it went black and I got depressed, then I pressed the 'return' button and there I saw: T-Mobile! I thought it died again, but the backlight just timed out.
When my phone finally started up it was like the sneeze finally came! The sneeze face was gone and I was relieved :) A hearty round of applause for my Blackberry ladies and gentlemen!!! He's such a trooper!

So the rice method actually works? What'd you do with the rice afterwards?
It really does work! I was rather impressed, I never would have thought to do that, I would've ended up spending a ton getting it fixed.
The rice is still sitting in a bowl in my room, I'm not quite sure what to do with it
I think the rice works for small devices. I tried to fix my MacBook by sticking it in a bowl of rice after I spilled tea on it, but it didn't work. Yay for your BlackBerry, though.
Rice? I saw this trick on "All My children" once. Erica Kane knew all about the rice thing. Now, I'm not admitting that I watch soaps, I was watching it in the doctors office waiting to be called. Really.
